Provide a better educational opportunity for all students. 

• Bring more focus to the classroom- remove obstacles to teaching.

• Support teachers to improve their pay and reduce their administrative burdens.

• Support appropriate discipline, attendance and grading policies and requirements for advancement

• Create an educational environment to produce higher test scores.

• Increase the availability of technology to improve teaching and administration and ensure staff  is trained to properly employ the technology.
• Ensure the District serves all its communities (neighborhood, ethnic, academic levels, etc.)

 Work with the District Superintendent to create positive change. 

• Support the Superintendent to create a plan for improvement in all areas and to implement this plan.
• Provide oversight to the District and the Superintendent to make sure policies and programs are working.
• Support the creation and implementation of new programs as needed.
• Support the Superintendent in obtaining the best staff especially in Principal, Assistant Superintendent and Assistant Principal positions in order to attract and retain the best teachers and best carry out District programs and policies.

 Involve the school communities in decision making.

• Create Community Committees for communications between the Board and the School communities.

• Create a Communications Committee at each school for communication between each school and its communities.  Make Site Based Committees work.
• Listen to complaints and address them and ensure others in administrative positions to do the same.

 Attract students from diverse groups who are abandoning the District

• Create messages that show the strengths of the District and its schools for communication purposes. 

• Present a more attractive picture of District schools to their communities through the establishment of Communications Committees and other forms of communications.

• Increase efforts to meet with feeder schools and improve communications with them.

• Make parents, students, administrators and teachers better communicators of the District’s message within the District’s communities.
